Now any Tapatap member can share any contest (we mean ANY contest whether you created it or not) and post it to your Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, Bebo, Blogger, etc..

Why would I want a Contest Widget?

-Now you can have your friends visit your own profile page on Facebook, MySpace, and play your contests on your site!

-Build contests for your community profile around your interests, weekend activities, photos, etc!

How to Post a Contest Widget on your site:

1. Click on the contest voting page (the contest you wish to post)

2. Click on the share contest on (see image below with red circled button)

3. Your contest widget is automatically created for your viewing prior to posting

4. On this contest widget page, click the site you want to post to or cut and paste the embed code

5. The dashboard will prompt you for your account username and password

6. DONE- now go visit Facebook, MySapce, Bebo, Hi5, etc to see your contest widget on your profile page

Tapatap has been hard at work developing promotional entry badges! These enable you to take your photo contest submissions, and post them on your MySpace page, Facebook profile, Blogger site, Friendster profile, and many more sites. The badges are created during your photo submission as the last step. Here’s our example:

New Ratings Scoring

We implemented a new scoring system for rating contests on September 5^th. We reduced the number of Voter Taps awarded in rating contests to bring them more in line with those in faceoff contests. We feel this change was necessary to best serve the community at large as some people have been running up high scores in rating contests in ways that we did not intend. We want every contest on Tapatap to be great, unique, and enjoyed by as many people as possible. We encourage everyone to spend time creating truly excellent contests and submitting excellent photos into appropriate contests.

Up and Running…

The past month has been quite hectic in our San Mateo Office! Our public-beta, launched June 11^th, has been running smoothly for exactly one month now and we are excited to see that the traffic to the site has been quickly climbing. In the beginning we hit some site server obstacles, but our engineers met those issues head-on and essentially eliminated that concern.

So far, Tappers have been submitting thousands of photos and creating some really amazing contests that are growing in popularity. New records are being set for Daily Voter Taps each week and we are crossing our fingers in anticipation for someone to emerge with a 7-digit Tap count! We have begun to send out the first few editions of the Weekly Tap to our registered users, which feature the site’s hot new contests and fabulous prize opportunities. Just last week we sent out our congratulations to two avid tappers who each won a brand new Nintendo Wii game console and to 24 lucky tappers who won Amazon gift cards in our eight monthly contests. In addition, we’ve handed out over $3000 in cash prizes to our daily and monthly Tap leaders!

Tapatap’s main attraction this month is the “I Wanna Win an iPhone” contest; Tappers must upload an original and creative photo illustrating why they deserve to win the new Apple iPhone and the winner with the most votes will be generously rewarded with the Jesus phone itself.

Everyone has been working really hard to improve the site daily and we would greatly appreciate any feedback or suggestions!

Private Beta 2 Alive and Kicking – Win a Wii!

This past weekend has been a big one for us! We successfully launched our second private beta on Friday with lots of new features (see previous post). We are getting closer and closer to the finish line for our public beta launch.

With most of the core features now in place, we are able to run competitions with our beta users and award prizes. We will be awarding two of those nearly-impossible-to-find Nintendo Wii’s to the most avid users of our site. One Wii will be awarded to the overall top voter between now and the end of June. The other Wii will be awarded to the Tapper with the most people on their Friend List at the end of June. To create a thriving community, these friends must upload a profile picture.
